What they actually say
- Admission is $14 for adults, $10 for seniors 65 and over, $6 for children 4-11 and free for 3 and under. Veterans pay $10 and active duty military are free.
- One ticket covers everything: the TEXAS FOREVER!! film, the special exhibit, the Observation Floor at the top of the column, and the museum gallery. There is no separate elevator ticket.
- The museum is open Wednesday to Sunday 9am-6pm and closed Monday and Tuesday, but the battlefield grounds outside are open every day 9am-6pm. A Monday visit still gets you the monument and the grounds, just not the ride up.
- Battleship Texas is NOT here and cannot be boarded. It was towed to Galveston in 2022 for a roughly $75M restoration and its own site states it is closed; the foundation is targeting a reopening at Galveston's Pier 15 in late 2026 or 2027. Do not come expecting a ship.
- Active duty military and their families get in free from Armed Forces Day (16 May 2026) through Labor Day (7 September 2026).
