What they actually say

• The zoo uses flex pricing, so the ticket price depends on the date chosen; child and senior tickets are 20% off the adult price shown. Tickets are not sold on site - non-members must reserve online.
• Free Zoo Days, presented by ExxonMobil, run the first Tuesday of every month from open to close. An online reservation is required, none are available at the gate, and they sell out.
• Students at listed Houston colleges and universities can reserve one free general admission ticket with a valid student ID.
• The Zoo is at 6200 Hermann Park Drive and does NOT have its own parking lot. Free parking is available in Hermann Park, and it fills up fast on holidays and on good-weather days.
• Alternatives the Zoo itself lists when Hermann Park fills: Medical Center and Museum District parking, the Houston Museum of Natural Science parking garage, the METRORail, and rideshare.
• Once you are in, you can stay until closing - there is no timed exit.
• The closest free lots are G, F, E, H and I on the Hermann Park map, a 5-10 minute walk; G and F sit right in front of the zoo. The McGovern Centennial Gardens lot (Lot C) is a 15-20 minute walk and limited to three hours.
• Double strollers and wagons ($17), manual wheelchairs ($18) and motorized scooters ($45) rent from the booth on your right inside the entrance. Strollers are not allowed in the Galápagos Islands exhibit, which has stroller parking at its entrance.
• METRORail Red Line: Memorial Hermann Hospital/Houston Zoo station is about a 10-minute walk through The Commons; Hermann Park/Rice U station is a walk through the Japanese Garden.
