The largest livestock show and rodeo on earth: three weeks of rodeo followed by stadium concerts, a carnival, and a barbecue cook-off. The defining Houston event.

Before you go

The 2027 Rodeo runs March 2 to 21 at Reliant Park. Three weeks, not a weekend, which means the choice is not whether to go but which night — and the nights are not interchangeable, because each one ends with a different concert inside Reliant Stadium.

Understand the ticket before you buy it. A rodeo ticket is a seat in the stadium for both the rodeo and that night's concert, and it also gets you onto the grounds. Grounds admission on its own is the cheaper option and buys you the carnival, the livestock barns, the shopping and the food, but no stadium seat. Plenty of people who say they went to the Rodeo mean the second thing.

Concert nights sell out by artist, so the lineup announcement in January is when the good seats move. If you are flexible, a weeknight with a less famous headliner is a much better experience of the actual rodeo.

Go hungry and go early enough to see the livestock side, which is the part visitors skip and the part that explains what the whole thing is for. Parking, ticket tiers and the daily schedule are on their site.
