The detail that makes this tournament worth attending over any other PGA stop is that the course is a city-owned municipal one — the same course you can book a tee time on yourself the following week, for a fraction of what a round at a private tour venue would cost.

Thursday and Friday are the better days to attend if you care about watching golf. The field is full, you can follow a group around without a crowd, and tickets are cheaper. Saturday and Sunday are the better days if you want atmosphere and are happy to stand in one place.
