Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park

Oct 9 – Oct 11

Memorial Park, S. Picnic Lane

Hundreds of juried artists across 19 disciplines fill South Picnic Lane in Memorial Park for three days of art, music, and food. Run by the non-profit Art Colony Association.

Before you go

Note the location before you set off: the fall 2026 festival is October 9 to 11 on South Picnic Lane in Memorial Park, not downtown. Earlier fall editions ran near Sam Houston Park and plenty of older listings still say so.

Memorial Park has no festival parking of its own worth the name, and South Picnic Lane is deep inside the park rather than on its edge. Rideshare is the low-friction answer; if you drive, going early on Saturday or any time on Friday is the difference between a short walk and a long one.

This is a buying show rather than a museum show. Nineteen disciplines are represented and the work is juried, so the quality is high and the prices are real — bring a card and a sense of what fits in your car. The Art Colony Association that runs it is a 501(c)(3), and it says it has put more than $4 million into local community groups over 54 years.

It is outdoors and largely unshaded in an October that is often still summer in Houston. Morning is the comfortable half of the day. Check their site for hours and admission.
