The Secret Group

The Secret Group is the EaDo comedy and music club at Polk and St. Emanuel, two rooms under one roof: a 350-capacity showroom for concerts and an 80-seat room called The Box, with its own marked door on Polk, where most of the comedy happens. Comedy runs every night of the week, and the age rule follows the clock rather than the act: concerts are all ages, comedy before 10pm is 18 and up, comedy after 10pm is 21 and up. There is no drink minimum, no dress code, no food but you can bring your own, and usually no box office, so most nights you can pay at the door. Parking is street, free after 6pm, unless the Rockets or the Dynamo are at home a few blocks away, when the lots fill and the prices climb.

• The main entrance is at the corner of Polk and St. Emanuel. The smaller room, The Box, has its own marked entrance on Polk.
• Age policy by event type: concerts are all ages; comedy shows starting before 10pm are 18+; comedy starting after 10pm is 21+; most other events are 21+. Always check the event page.
• Street parking on the surrounding blocks is free after 6pm (some spots are metered before). Nearby pay lots run about $10 to $20; the venue recommends a monitored lot. On Toyota Center or Shell Energy Stadium event nights parking gets scarce and lot prices rise.
• There is normally no box office. Most events sell at the door on the day; buy online if a show might sell out.
• No refunds.
• No dress code.
• Open 5pm to 2am daily.
• No photos or video at comedy shows. Anyone caught recording must delete it and may be removed; take pictures with the comics afterwards.
• No drink minimum, unlike most comedy clubs. Non-alcoholic options include nitro cold-brew coffee.
• No food is served, but you are welcome to bring food in from the many places nearby.
• Some listed events take place at other venues. Check the location on the event page.
• Concerts are usually in the 350-person showroom; comedy is usually in The Box, which seats 80.
• Weekly pattern: comedy nightly, karaoke on Thursdays, emo and themed DJ nights on Fridays, a 90s-to-2000s dance night every Saturday.
• Nobody answers the phone. Contact is by email or Instagram; the venue's Facebook page is suspended.
