The Emerald Theatre

The Emerald Theatre looks like the busiest venue in Houston on any listings feed, and that is misleading: it is a 130-seat room in the Theater District running two resident shows — Drunk Shakespeare and Drunk Pirates — most nights of the week. So the eighty-odd calendar entries are really two shows repeating, not eighty different nights out. It is a 21-and-over evening, the show runs about 90 minutes with no interval, and the garage directly above the theatre is the easy park.

What the venue actually says

  • 412 Travis St, Houston, TX 77002, in the Theater District downtown. The room seats about 130.
  • Home to Drunk Shakespeare and Drunk Pirates, both from The Drunk Shakespeare Society, which is why the same titles recur through the calendar.
  • Drunk Pirates is a 21 and over show - bring photo ID.
  • The show runs roughly 90 minutes with no intermission.
  • One Market Square garage sits directly above the theatre, with prices varying by what else is on downtown. Paid lots and street parking are nearby.
  • Craft cocktails can be ordered and delivered to your seat during the show.
