Editor · Experiencing Houston
I run Experiencing Houston. I started it because every "things to do in Houston" list I could find was assembled somewhere else, from other lists, by someone who had never checked whether the hours were right.
So this site works the other way round. Every place page here is checked against the venue's own site — hours, admission, free days, parking — and re-checked when something looks stale. When a claim can't be verified, it doesn't get published: the guides on this site are written with AI assistance and then held against a facts gate that blocks anything the venue's own pages don't support. It fails often, and that is the point.
That checking turns up real errors. Verifying the 26 curated events on this calendar against their organisers found eleven of them — six wrong dates and four dead links, including a bowl game listed two days early and an airshow listed on the wrong weekend. Two events were pulled entirely because nobody could confirm they still happen.
If something here is closed, moved, or wrong, email me and it gets fixed the same day.
